I wish I had followed my instinct. Going to try again and see if it works better. Maybe I have a different yeast than what this recipe uses. I work in a bakery, so I was kind of shocked that it didn’t work. We use regular yeast though. I used instant or whatever so I wasn’t really sure how it would work. Dang folks! According to my experience combining yeast in a warm cup of sugar water give a more rising power to the bread dough. So instead of plain warm water, it’s better to use warm sugar water. (sorry if it sounds stupid) but what kind of flour does this recipe call for? All purpose, self-rising, bread flour?? And can you substitute for like almond flour???. All Taylor Swift Cat Shirt or bread flour would work fine. Self-rising shouldn't be used for bread unless specifically stated. Almond flour would be a decent substitute. Bread can be finicky and takes practice and patience, but is easy once you figure out how it works best in your kitchen. I wouldn't try to sub almond flour in this recipe, it acts different. Bread isn't usually made with nut, especially dinner roll and "foccacia" type of breads. I would stick to bread flour, all purpose if it has to be used

I bake so much, and I know. The perfect trick for the dough to be active in 1h or max 1.30h is to turn on the light of oven and put the dough there. Smash it all together, dusting with a little extra flour if needed, because it will be a sticky dough at first. Just bought a skillet. Didnt care for the size. But know i need to know the size of your skillet. Because the recipe will be under or overzised.
