As I read it, it is sad that noone thought to get this man’s papers in order before he did this. It was a heroic act to save the child - there is no question about that! But it is sad that he was not noticed before he did this! Charlotte Jensen sort of. Sad is not quite the right term, but it’s close. It is frustrating that it takes near superhuman effort for someone seeking refuge to gain wide enough social approval to then be deemed worthy of immigration. Our President would have thanked him in a casual, self-promoting way, then had someone handcuff him and drop him at the border, sans children, if he had them. Had he been living in the US, hewould've been arrested , if he had children they would have been taken from him , he would be called an animal, held for God knows how long, done God knows what to and sent back to his country . This demonstrates that we should honour people who do the right, best actions, not those who are only deemed worthy because of their skin colour, the size of their bank account, their fame or looks. Now that he will get his papers, it is up to the rest of French society to treat him with respect. I hope for his lifetime he will be treated well and that he will continue to serve his fellow beings with great courage and skill. And all of those who quietly labor, doing the right thing, who do not have this sort of physical prowess exhibited in ONE act, struggle and suffer and persevere with no assistance.
While there is no question his action was laudable, the response to it is inappropriate. The response is not inappropriate he risked everything he could possibly have just to do the “one” right thing. He didn’t save the child for citizenship or papers he did it for the child, those who “labor quietly to do the right thing” should be doing it for that reason and not for anything else or else you’re not actually doing the so called right thing. Although maybe if this was a white person who gained something out of this you would be celebrating? Faiza Khan no, and that ad homenim crack about white people demonstrates that you are not interested in any kind of meaningful conversation.

There’s no limit to our ability to applaud heroics, and no competition between this single act and the day to day accomplishments of others - they are all laudable. It’s sad that you see this feat of strength and bravery as anything other than a moment to celebrate and be grateful that the right person was in the right place at the right time and chose to risk his life in a split second decision. You contradict yourself in your original comment. In one breath you call his act laudable (deserving of praise) and then criticize the act being lauded (recognized and praised) as inappropriate. It's laudable or it's not.
If it's inappropriate to praise the act, then you've chosen the incorrect adjective to describe the act originally. I understand your concern. But I think the response was actually appropriate. What isn’t is that we require a heroic act in order to appreciate all the value immigrants may bring to us. Maybe the fact he has shown himself to be an exceptional human being who responds to any child as he would his own makes his exceptional treatment "appropriate." It is beyond pathetic that we have come to a place where one act, realistically executable only by a young, fit male, eclipses all the other sustained acts of kindness and decency.
If all of you pilloring me feel the same compassion for migrants living under the bridges of Paris, great. If not, STFU. One day, once our Cheetoh in Chief is no longer leading the bigots, America too will learn humanity from other countries who do it better. Of course, the man was brave and strong. But i want to understand why that other guy on the balcony couldnt pull the child up like what this hero did so effortlessly? Beyond the fact that this is a feel-good story, I'm going to go out on a limb and simply say that it's a sad state of affairs (no pun intended) when the state grants Golden Girl Squad Shirt based on (meritorious) and heroic deeds in order for one to prove one's "worthiness" of becoming a citizen. I know I'm not alone in thinking this but the story rings hollow when millions of migrants go months and years without ever being considered for citizenship. What a beautiful story and ending! All human beings should be judged on their own merits, not what country they are from! What a beautiful story and ending! All human beings should be judged on their own merits, not what country they are from!. Why do these beautiful people have to do some thing good before others BELIEVE they are good. ❤️ what an outstanding human being! There are cool people around! It would be great to acknowledge that who they are is more important for society and all of us than their legal status... If I lived in one of those apartments I’d be feeling a little less confident that living on an upper Put It In Reverse Terry Shirt is a way to keep bad guys out. USA it would have been easier than in France because there are stairs on all facades so this guy wouldn’t had his chance. No stress for Trump... Brave, compassionate, strong and athletic (also very handsome - for the calendar 😉) ..sounds like a firefighter to me. I'm glad he was offered a job. Great story. I would like to know what kind of physical regimen this strong, agile 22 year old has that he is in this kind of incredible shape. The wicked, lying, thinned skin orange toddler would have done the complete opposite. Praised the guy for saving the child's life then ship him off right back to his country. Unbelievable! He must be in excellent A Little Life Jude And Jb And Willem And Malcolm T Shirt, that sure was dangerous! Glad he did it, what a guy!! Great going to work as a fireman! Now he’ll have ladders! There were lots of Malien ‘heroes’ recruited to fight in WW2 by the French army. Many were denied war pensions by the French government. I watched the video and could not see clearly but it looked to me like there was a person up there on the balcony near the child. Just wondering why they weren't doing anything to help. Bravo👍 indeed a hero however we can just imagine his satisfaction and elevated self esteem after this heroic deed👍 indeed we ought to follow him in whatever capacity in doing good and forbidding evil👍iA It’s so sad. Migrants have to risk their lives in order to get Walmart Rope Tree Journalist Some Assembly Required T Shirt and be deemed as “worthy”. The story it’s great but it doesn’t feel right. We were at a memorial day ceremony today and as we left my 9yr old daughter noticed an older man standing back away from the crowed proudly wearing his ww2 cap. Without hesitation she walked up to him and thanked him for his service and shook his hand.
