I also didn't realize that comment sections were the place for political essays with citations. Here is a nice breakdown of one of Obama's divisive rhetorical tactics in one of his speeches about racism and the police: http://www.dailywire.com/.../no-need-evidence-minnesota... . One thing to keep in mind: One can criticize Obama without actually liking President Trump's tactics (these are not mutually-exclusive ideas). You are using a false reasoning called Tu Quoque, which basically justifies bad actions by pointing at someone else's bad actions. It basically says that two wrongs somehow make a right.https://www.thoughtco.com/tu-quoque-logical-fallacy-1692568
My personal take on President Trump is that he is a vulgar, reality TV billionaire who likes to win culture wars instead of pushing through good policy. He does this because it works in his favor with a body politic that is fed up with very real divisions initiated and kept aflame by the Democratic Party during the Obama Administration and even to this day (as noted by this bit of satire in response to more Leftist hyperbole at the NY Times: http://www.nationalreview.com/.../charles-blows-novel...). Sometimes by some miracle Trump does good things, and sometimes he doesn't. And quite often he is his own worst enemy. Like many Constitutional Conservatives and Libertarians, I do whole-heartedly wish that President Trump would either stop tweeting or have someone else read his tweets before he posts them. I also think he should never ever ever go off his pre-written teleprompter speeches and add his own ideas. It doesn't go well when he does that.

But, in the end, I care far less about what he says (though it would be a welcome relief if he chose to elevate the political and public discourse) and more about what policy is enacted under his watch. Obama spoke well and did bad things. Trump does not speak well and has the potential at least to reverse the junk Obama did. I will hold off on full judgment until his presidency is over. Trump is on his way to starting world war 3, millions may die, but he shows little concern and resorts to name calling other world leaders and belittling. Maybe Obama wasn't perfect but I would take his policies a millions times over choosing someone who itches to start a nuclear war. And I'm sorry, but Trump embodies racial division. He opted on several occasions to not denounce white supremacists, people who would want to see me in chains because of the color of my skin. If that doesn't sicken you and you can still support the man then it says a lot about you as a person. "Zubeiru AR I'm very open-minded. I just lived in America for the 8 years Obama was president and I paid attention. My takeaway was that there was a disconnect between his words and actions, and that he held political views that were quite dangerous judging by the fact that they actually hurt real people."

What were these political views, why were they dangerous, and most importantly, how did they hurt people? Specifics, please. Craig Miller Here are some concise articles: http://www.washingtontimes.com/.../assessing-the-obama.../ http://www.dailywire.com/.../democrats-say-obamas-all... I will also add my own comments, as someone who strongly supports human rights for everyone under every circumstance, that Obama pushed a radical abortion ideology through the veto process, including supporting late -term dismemberment abortions which defy both ethics and scientific knowledge of fetal pain. He also exacerbated racism through his oppressor/oppressed identity politics (which is tribalistic and racist by its very nature). He forced a highly progressive social agenda and used the power of the government to force these views upon people (as noted by his controversial executive bathroom order). The US is in much worse shape now after his term than before.
