My family does provide help to a foster family here in the US through a ministry that our church participates with whose goal is to provide every foster family in our county with a care team who will provide babysitting, meals, etc to the family. It might not effect what is happening at the border but it is addressing a heartbreaking situation involving kids even here in the us.

There are opportunities to help refugees by providing transportation to the store, government agencies, etc. until they can get a drivers licence and eventually a job. Other needed services include childcare, teachers in English language classes and in general cultural adaptation /navigation. Many of the refugees are at risk for being taken advantage if due to their lack of understanding of the language and culture. See if there is a similar situation near you. We want to protect the family unit of immigrants coming over the border and yet we allow, even encourage the deterioration of the family unit right here in our own country.
