17yrs wilshere had just one fantastic game against barca which we were already eliminated and a beautiful goal against norwich....xhaka had a bad season but the guy had to play all games without big injury because wilshere was injured or lack fitness. Most important thing every player must fight for a starting place it is earn not given to its not wenger's era anymore. At least now we have a manager and board who are active and not busy commentating world cup! I wish you would read. He left of is own accord because he wasn't guaranteed play time. He didn't want to fight for his place so he made the choice to leave. Unfortunately he was no different than diaby! It’s sad to see the only passionate young native English man leave the club 😞 with so many foreign faces at the club having someone who represented the actual fans and nation was A dying but important thing for Arsenal. Growing up as a young Arsenal fan I can remember Arsenal always having at least three or four players in the England squad... now I don’t even think we have one... sad times 😞 on an interesting note how many fans feel more of a sad loss at Jack leaving than they did at the likes of Sanchez, fab and Persie...

The last time I felt this kind of emotions about this type of player leaving the club was when the likes of Adams and wright played. The last time I felt this bad was when wrighty left in 1998. Wrighty left for the same reason because he felt he wouldn't get game time because Aneka was the new boy at arsenal. You are right in some ways but regarding the English blood. I could see players like Maitland Niles under the right development getting there along with Reiss Nelson and maybe even Nketiah but these guys need to work hard so it's not all grim. The truth is Jack has bottled this situation but in reality is probably doing the right thing for him. Kyle Perkins I get what you are saying but all those players you just listed don’t really scream at you “native Britain lads” I know many people will scream racism at this comment but Jack Wilshere represented the Real native British side of the club that has almost faded and makes the club British. Actually native indigenous Britains are the Welsh Scots and Irish, Historically speaking, that's before the Romans landed, oh and they brought with them Iberians North Africans and other nations that now constitutes what you call native Britians. What's your point? My point being that The kids of Portugal look up to Ronaldo the kids of Argentina look up to messy and the kids of France will look up to Grisman because they are what They aspire to be.

Arsenal football club have many different nationalities but it is always good for a club to have the homegrown hero that kids can look at and identify with. Whether you like it or not someone like Jack bled red and white and was a symbol for the English identity at Arsenal. The likes of nkeutish and Nelson don’t strike a chord with most British Arsenal fans in the way someone like Jack Wilshere could... for me and many other fans it is nice to see an old school English player representing the club and sadly it’s a dying trend. You can’t call him a bottler when he has suffered injury after injury... I’d rather a wilshere over a nketiah or Nelson any day because for me he represents what Arsenal used to stand for and added A certain something that only a traditional Englishman could understand.
