They Can’t Burn Us All Sweater

Shirt good....teacher bad. ”The left”? I’m about as far from the left as they come. But please, continue jumping to conclusions and making assumptions. That’s how intelligent conversations are started. I stated my opinion on the subject, just as everyone else has. What I did not do was go searching around other people’s posts looking for an argument with anyone that doesn’t 100% agree with my viewpoint. I don’t agree with what the teacher did, as I said before. But the fact that I believe the kid and parents are also partly to blame for this fiasco makes me a leftist somehow. Ur problem is that ur not recognizing u made a false statement/ assumption Chris Cooper, so instead of trying to defend "ur opinion" that u past off as fact, concede to the fact that it was wrong in how u worded it comment.... that would be a good way to start an intelligent conversation.... but hey that's just my opinion! Remember when people used to actually READ an article before they make an idiotic irrelevant comment like “it’s called a dress code” when the article clearly says “the school has determined that the shirt does not violate the dress code and will be discussing it with the teacher”?

Yeah - those were the days... Little misleading. The teacher sent the girl to the principle for possible dress code violation. Allowing the principle to make the call. Yet the parent flew off the handle. Assumed it was the teacher trying to stifle something. Why doesn't the teacher know the dress code? He or she needs to keep their political views to themselves. This topic comes around so often it’s ridiculous. Be it shorts too short, spaghetti straps on girls, pants sagging on guys, or a logo T-shirt of one type or another. It’s all distracting and a waste of time better spent on solving the learning/ teaching issues in school. IMHO every school should have a simple uniform. Khaki slacks (or knee length shorts in warm weather)polo type T-shirt’s and lace up shoes. Impresses on the students that this is a work environment, and how to be presentable in the job force. Takes the pressure off students and parents to keep up with the latest and greatest in kids fashion. Prevents clothing of any design to be a distraction in the classroom.
Problem solved. Shirts like that aren’t allowed on school campus.
