Well, first, Sarah Gershaw I was being facetious and pointing out that trump appointing someone with no background to a head position (dr. Carson ie) it makes sense that he would choose someone who doesn't have to be right...or right for the job. Secondly, Sarah Gershaw, I never said they were worthless. You have to dig deeper to see the irony. It's not for everyone. Cheers. Very true, Marcin. I will endeavor to make my jokes far more reasonable from now on.

Here’s one for you: Descartes walks into a bar. The bartender asks if he’d like a drink. Descartes says, “I think not,” and disappears.
Except that he doesn’t disappear because even though Descartes’ philosophy was “I think, therefore I am,” and so not thinking would by his philosophy would make him no longer exist, people don’t really disappear upon the application of philosophical theory.

Yep. Reason: makes everything funnier. Wellllll, meteorologists are pretty smart and degreed. I don't like Trump but I do respect a meteorologist/climatologist. Johnny Saraiva reading is hard and makes people think. They might actually learn something new which we know would break out into a fist fight with what they already know. This was my professor in many of my meteorology classes when I was going to the University of Oklahoma.

He's a wonderful professor and a wonderful man. The country is lucky to have such a intelligent, scientifically minded person in this position. I call this the first win of the current Administration. Some of Droegemeier's colleagues hope that he would help shift the Trump administration's thinking on climate change. “I'm certain he believes in mainstream climate science," says Rosina Bierbaum, an environmental-policy expert at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor who has held multiple presidential advisory roles. Bierbaum and Drogemeier worked on climate-change issues together when they served on the board of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. So an actual scientist, who believes in climatescience, in the Trump cabinet? What's the catch?? Is he an anti-gay flat-earther or what? “He’s an excellent communicator and really good at distilling complex issues,” I hope he's also good at cartoon illustrations.

He'll need them to convey to the administration. Not trying to knock a meteorologist, but the weather cannot be accurately predicted past a few days, so promoting this man makes sense for this administration - no real plan for the future. Maybe we'll try bashing these stones together, see what happens. Also that you don’t understand the difference between a meteorologist and a weatherman. Go home dude. I think you're confusing weathermen with meteorologists. Meteorology is the study of the processes and phenomena of the atmosphere as well as using that information as a means to forecast the weather. Meteorologists go to school and get degrees in Meteorology or atmospheric sciences. Weathermen can be meteorologists but not necessarily. Sometimes they're just news anchormen who are reading off information given to them by actual meteorologists. 'So, im a Capricorn, what is going to happen to me today?' 'apologies Mr President, I am a meteorologist.' ' ahhhh, ok, are any meteors going to hit America anytime soon?' He appears to solidly believe in science.

Think about that for a minute, how that most basic of criteria is even necessary to mention. Before this administration it was a given. Michael Mann, a climate scientist at Pennsylvania State University who has criticized Trump's climate policies, said Droegemeier is an excellent scientist with "absolutely mainstream views about the atmospheric sciences and climate." It's not faulty studies or science that is to blame, it's bad science reporting.
