Later is when I came home after my duty, held 3 Jobs, went to college, raiSed my children, had cancer & bought a home.. I am going to get it. My adult daughters are doing well for themselves. My point is we all have stuff that happens that may not affect others as it would someone else.

As far as I and many other vets are concerned, the day you got your honorable discharge after serving an entire enlistment, it should have come with citizenship. You are right, I know several in Albuquerque that are trying to achieve citizenship the right way and it is hard to find a sponsor that meets the income requirements for the number of years, three if I remember correctly. One couple was a dad that was a US citizen, mom was not, had three kids. Sadly dad made $600 a year less than the required income so his uncle had to financially sponsor her. They never took any benefits nor did she leave to visit back home. Uncle lost his job three months before the end of the required time and they were told she had to start over again. They were so discouraged and it did cost them more than they can afford. Now THAT is what needs fixed. Michael Lee Williams thank you for your understanding!
