Turbinado is a less refined sugar. The refining step that is skipped in making turbinado sugar is the removal of molasses. Turbinado sugar still contains molasses, while white sugar does not. Skittles would be almost the same process, just molded differently. What in the ingredients would give them a pink/orange color?
