Sigh. I have lotion on my desk that I let the kids use because they come in with super chapped hands. I had one of my freshman come up last year to my desk, squirt lotion on her hand, lick it off, and then proceed to complain that it was not liquid candy. I had another sophomore student chug a bottle of Elmer’s glue like it was a squeeze it during an art project. A final student, also a sophomore, took a bite out of one of my class plants. You look away for one second, I swear. You cannot make this stuff up. As it was said in Ferris buellers Day off, “I weep for the future.” Lol. Staring at a paper that I put in front of them. Me explaining to read all directions before starting. A kid raises his hand within a few minutes. "Yes, what do you need?"

So, the main argument on this page is "since I don't make 35k, then neither should a teacher".....you realize a teacherneeds a 4 year degree minimum to teach your kid right?. If your kid needs any extra help, then it takes 2 more years. And if they need alot of extra help, they need even more. All these years studying at a university just because they want to help your kid excel in life.....and you think they should be rewarded with poverty for that? Wow. Talk about entitled. There are plenty of individuals with 4 year degrees making less. On top of it there isn't a single job with more vacation time. 35k is plenty of they want more money go finish your masters, or maybe utilize the 3 months they get off in the summer to pad their earnings. The real issue is the cost of educating anyone beyond high school. Andy Van Nort Closer to 8 with all their vacation, holidays, and sick days they get.
